Lands Commissioner, Akinfunmilayo Hails Governor Makinde’s Infrastructure Strides as Local Government Service Commission Building is Commissioned

The Oyo State Government has commissioned an ultra-modern Local Government Service Commission building, marking a significant milestone in the state’s infrastructure development.

At the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Akinfunmilayo Williams, Commissioner for Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, who retired as permanent secretary local government service commission praised Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for its infrastructure development strides.

“Governor Makinde’s vision for Omituntun 2.0 prioritizes, workers welfare since the inception of the administration Commissioner Williams said. “Notably, the governor ensured that all processes were duly followed and completed from the project’s inception.”

Commissioner Williams highlighted key achievements of the Makinde administration, including the return of illegally sacked workers, salary increments for local government administration heads, and prompt salary payments on or before the 25th of every month.

“In the short administration of the Omituntun administration, over seven civil servants have been promoted to the rank of permanent secretaries, which is rare in the history of Oyo state,” Hon. Williams added. “These achievements demonstrate Governor Makinde’s commitment to civil servants’ welfare, good governance, and Oyo State’s development.”

Further Williams stated the governor insisted that due process must be followed and duly carried out throughout the project’s execution, ensuring transparency and accountability

This remarkable feat is a testament to Governor Makinde’s dedication to the growth and development of Oyo State’s civil service. The promotion of civil servants is a key aspect of effective governance.
