The Zenith Labour Party in Oyo State Has Adopted Seyi Makinde As It’s Gubernatorial Candidate For Next Week Election
The party decided after it had a distinctive meeting with Makinde led by the state chairman Chief Adegboyega Moshood and the State Secretary Mr. Aree Oyinloye and all the 33 local Government executives in Ibadan.
BOWA MEDIA learned that the merger was instituted by “Hon. Olayemi Mandate Group” (HOMG) a political group from Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency a political group of hon Busari Olayemi (Kobomoje) the candidate of the PDP at the last presidential and NASS general election.
The state chairman of the Zenith Labour Party(ZLP) Chief Adegboyega Moshood said: On the adoption of governor Seyi Makinde, “The mandate to enter into talks with the PDP was borne out of the motivation of our numerous public sampling and opinion from the masses which has been positive, we believe that governor Seyi Makinde remains a better candidate for the gubernatorial elections and deserve to be supported by ZLP.
Moshood disclosed that after much brainstorming by the Working Committee and other stakeholders of the party, the following considerations were counted for Engr. Seyi Makinde of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP):
“His administration has promoted and preserved workers’ welfare, the increase in the state IGR in the last four years is applauding, the economy under his watch has witnessed appreciable growth; His transformation agenda is making a desirable impact in transforming the state infrastructure.
Further, a chat with our correspondence after the meeting the converner HOMG, Deacon Adegbite Omoniyi, said the moves were necessary at this time and of a big advantage to the party (PDP) for a better delivery at the poll, Adegbite said they have been in talks for a very long time, making them see the reason why the adoption of governor Seyi Makinde as the sole gubernatorial candidate was necessary.
Other executives who were at the meeting were the Coordinator Elder Femi Olugbade and Hon Leke Ogunwale (Picos).
