The Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ibadan North Local Government, Imam Bello Olorun Ero, has commended the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, for organizing the second edition of the Ramadan Iftar for Muslim faithful in the council area.
The cleric gave the commendation during the 2026 Ramadan Iftar hosted by the council chairman at the Ibadan North Local Government Council Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
Speaking while delivering a sermon titled “Religious Tolerance in Islam,” Imam Bello Olorun Ero praised Hon. Olufade for his commitment to fostering unity and peaceful coexistence among people of different religious backgrounds, despite being a Christian.
He described the council boss as a rare leader who exemplifies true religious harmony, noting that his consistent support for the Muslim community reflects a deep sense of inclusiveness and leadership responsibility.
In his words, the Imam referred to Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade as the “Jamal of our time,” explaining that Jamal means a person of good character, handsomeness, and kindness.
He noted that the chairman embodies these qualities through his humility, generosity, and dedication to the wellbeing of the people.
He further emphasized that Islam promotes peace, love, and tolerance, urging adherents of all religions to continue to live in harmony and uphold mutual respect within society.
The Ramadan Iftar, which attracted religious leaders, political stakeholders, traditional figures, and party faithful, provided an avenue for collective prayers, unity, and reflection during the holy month.
Attendees also broke their fast together, while food packs were distributed to participants, further underscoring the spirit of giving and compassion associated with Ramadan.
Several dignitaries present at the event also lauded Hon. Olufade for sustaining the Ramadan Iftar initiative, describing it as a commendable effort that strengthens religious unity and social cohesion in Ibadan North Local Government.
The event concluded with prayers for peace, progress, and continued development in Ibadan North Local Government, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large.
