Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland and Chairman of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Akanran, Ibadan, Engr Dotun Sanusi, has congratulated the Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, on his installation as the Jagunmolu of Ondo Kingdom.

Sanusi described the honour bestowed on Makinde in faraway Ondo State as well-deserved, noting that it is confirmation of his track record of good governance and his wide acclaim as the face of good governance in the country.
According to the Ilaji Hotels chairman, the recognition of the Oyo State governor by the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Dr Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, Jilo III, should be a source of pride to the people of Oyo State, as it fulfills the saying that “ti eegun eni ba moo jo, ori a maa ya atokun.”
The oil magnate added that Makinde’s masterful delivery of the Osemawe’s 70th birthday anniversary lecture centred on the role of the traditional institution in socioeconomic development was also heart-warming.
Sanusi maintained that it was time that government began to look in the direction of the traditional institution to surmount many of the challenges facing the country.
He said: “I celebrate my brother and Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, ‘Seyi Makinde, FNSE, on his installation as the Jagunmolu of Ondo Kingdom by the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Dr Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, Jilo III, on Friday, November 10, 2023.
“His Excellency’s track record of good governance and visionary leadership in Oyo State has been a source of hope to many of us and this chieftaincy, like many accolades before it, is a confirmation of his wide acclaim as the Face of Good Governance in the country and the Pride of the South-West.
“I must also commend the governor’s masterful delivery of the birthday lecture, which centres on the role traditional institutions play in socioeconomic development, a topic that is dear to my heart.
“The governor was able to speak the truth to power by calling for a review that would see traditional rulers integrated into existing state structure and I must say that this action is long overdue.
“If we will be able to surmount most of the challenges facing our society, traditional rulers will have to be given more recognition.”
