Ido Local Government Sets Pace in Food Production with Successful Cassava, Yam Harvest

The Executive Chairman of Ido local government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo has affirmed the readiness of his administration to continue in setting the pace in food production among the local government areas.

This was evident with the harvest of cassava embarked upon by the local government in less than a week the local government harvested yams aiming at boosting food production.

Monumental Legacy

The cassava being harvested was planted last year November with adequate funding by the Hon. Sheriff-led administration in line with the Economic expansion initiative through the agriculture of Engr. Seyi Makinde which forms one of his four points agenda.

The council boss who expressed satisfaction with the bountiful harvest in just 10 months of planting encourages individuals to go back to farms to add their quota to food production and reduce the cost of living among the people.

“I wish to implore our people to go back to farms most especially to cultivate arable crops which will boost the production of farm products and make them self-sufficient”.
