Ido LG Poll: APM Confirms Rasaq Mabaje as Chairmanship Candidate After Peaceful Primaries

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) on Wednesday conducted its chairmanship and councillorship primary elections in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, with party leaders confirming Hon. Rasaq Mabaje as the party’s chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government election.

The primary election, which was held to affirm the earlier consensus arrangement on Mabaje and other councillorship candidate, held on August 5, brought together party leaders, members and stakeholders from across the local government to select candidates who will represent the party in the council polls.

The exercise was conducted under the supervision of party officials and was monitored by observers, including officials of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) and security personnel, to ensure a peaceful and transparent process.
Party leaders commended members for their orderly conduct throughout the exercise, describing the primaries as free, fair and credible. They urged all aspirants and supporters to remain united and work collectively towards the party’s success in the forthcoming local government elections.

Following the conclusion of the exercise, Mr. Mabaje emerged as the APM chairmanship candidate, while candidates for the various councillorship seats across the wards in Ido Local Government were also nominated.
The party expressed confidence in the ability of its candidates to deliver effective leadership and pledged to intensify its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
