Ido LG Boss, Adeojo Charges Security Operatives On Hitch-Free Christmas/New Year Celebration

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has charged the security operatives in the local government to do all within their powers to put crime and accidents at bay during the festive period and beyond.

Adeojo, on Thursday, appealed while presiding over the local government’s December peace and security meeting, which was held at the local government secretariat.

He emphasised the need to forestall the breakdown of rules and order during the Yuletide celebration at the meeting, which involved the participation of the Divisional Police Officers; Directors of State Security Officers, Civil Defence Officers; representatives of the Federal Road Safety Commission; and Immigration Officers.

Similarly, the operatives appealed to the LG Council to erect speed breakers in some of the accident-prone areas to reduce excessive speeding of motorists.

They also identified the need for synergy with Park Managers, Police, and FRSC on the modalities to register all Okada riders with inscriptions on their jackets to get rid of the influx of unknown cyclists in the Council.

The meeting urged road users to endeavor to wind up while in filling stations and other porous zones.

They also called on members of the public to stop bush burning and the use of fireworks in this period of dry season to avert fire outbreaks.
