Ido Council Chair’ Adeojo Reacts To Ibadan Explosion, Commends State Govt Promptness

The Executive Chairman of Ido local government area of Ibadan, Hon. Sherrif Adeojo, has commiserated with the victims of the explosion, which occurred on Tuesday night on Deji Oyelese Street, Adeyi Avenue area of Ibadan.

 

Adeojo, who described the incident as sad in a statement by his Media Group, on Thursday, and made available to journalists in Ibadan, urged the government to look into the matter critically and ensure perpetrators of the tragedy are fished out and brought to justice.

Several residential and commercial buildings as well as cars were destroyed in the explosion that rocked the environment, which affected about 60 houses and got close to 80 people injured.

 

The Council chairman, while praying for the repose of the souls of those who died in the explosion, equally prayed that the families of the victims would be engraved with the ability to draw the strength and fortitude to bear the great loss.

 

Monumental Legacy

While commending the state government for its prompt intervention in putting in adequate measures in responding to the incident to forestall further calamity, he hoped that such an occurrence would not repeat itself in the town and the state at large.
