Ibadan: Two FoodCo Staff Fined 50,000 Each For Stealing Two Loaves of Bread

In ibadan two employees of FoodCo, Ring Road branch, Ebenezer Olusesi (31) and Ibrahim Adeniyi (41) were arraigned before the Iyaganku Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan on Monday.

They were charged with the alleged theft of two loaves of bread valued at N2,600 from their employer.

Olusesi, who works as a baker, and Adeniyi, employed as a security guard, both entered pleas of not guilty to the theft charges.

According to the prosecution counsel, Cpl. David Adepoju, the defendant purportedly conspired to commit the theft.

Adepoju further informed the court that on April 28, the defendants allegedly stole two loaves of bread valued at N2,600, belonging to the Company situated at Ring Road, Ibadan, as represented by Friday Achibong.

He said the offense contravene Sections 390(a) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Olabisi Ogunkanmi, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N50,000 each with two sureties each in like.

Ogunkanmi said one of the sureties must be a relative, while the second surety must present tax evidence for two years.

She adjourned the matter till August 15 for a hearing.
