Ibadan Set for PDP National Convention as Rep. Folajimi Oyekunle DoN Rallies Massive Support, Welcomes Delegates, Hails Makinde’s Visionary Leadership
As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holds its highly anticipated National Convention today in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, the federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), has warmly welcomed all party delegates, national leaders, stakeholders, and members from across the country to what he described as a defining moment for the PDP.
Hon. Oyekunle expressed delight that Ibadan—renowned for its political history, cultural prestige, and democratic vibrancy—has once again been chosen to host a gathering of national importance. He said the convention serves not only as a platform for party decisions but also as a reaffirmation of unity, strength, and shared vision within the PDP.
In the spirit of party solidarity, the federal lawmaker disclosed that he has mobilised massively within Ibadan North to ensure an impressive turnout and electrifying atmosphere throughout the convention. He noted that the overwhelming support from his constituents demonstrates their unwavering belief in the PDP’s renewed direction.
Oyekunle also extended heartfelt commendation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, describing him as a true pathfinder and pacesetter whose visionary leadership continues to elevate Oyo State and inspire confidence across Nigeria. He stated that Governor Makinde’s role in strengthening the PDP and positioning it for future victories makes him a pride to the state and the party.
