According to the Chairman of the central campaign council for Ibadan North, Hon. Dada Awoleye, the suspension was in solidarity with the people of Oyo State and Ibadan North in particular, over the harrowing experiences in recent times over unending fuel and the new naira-note crisis in the state.

Awoleye, who on behalf of Ibadan North PDP sympathized with innocent citizens over the avoidable hardship caused by the APC-led government directed that all campaign activities be suspended, noting that the people’s suffering was too much.

Monumental Legacy

” The scarcity of the new notes and fuel is hurting businesses, especially those that are heavily cash-reliant, causing distortions to individuals, businesses, and the economy at large, this resulted in some aggrieved residents to have stormed major streets in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, to display their grievances over the unavailability of the new Naira notes from POS, Automated Teller Machines, ATMs and over-the-counter.

Biiro D Solution

” There is no doubt that the APC-led government is continuously inflicting hardship on Nigerians as a result of their policy somersaults and incompetence even as it remains days to the election and few months to leave the government.

” With situation of things, a seriously government is supposed to have found a lasting solution to the lingering crisis of naira and fuel scarcity but, it has shown that the APC-led government is enjoying the melting hardship on citizens.

” At this end, the central campaign council of the PDP in Ibadan North found it necessary to solidarize with great people of Nigeria, as our state governor, Seyi Makinde had done. All campaign activities in our local government are hereby suspended till further notice.

“We urge all Ibadan North local government residents and citizens of the state to remain calm as we navigate through this difficult period together,” the Ibadan North CCC chairman, Awoleye stated.
