Ibadan North East LG Chairman, Akintayo, Commends Governor Makinde’s Developmental Strides in Oyo State

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo aka ( O mu Yes ) commends Governor Seyi Makinde for his unwavering commitment to the growth and well-being of Oyo State residents.

In a release signed by the Council’s Information Officer, Ikeoye Oyetoro, the Chairman noted that Governor Seyi Makinde’s commissioning of an ultra-modern building at the Secretariat is a clear indication of his commitment to infrastructure development, economic growth, and social welfare in Oyo State’s local government system.

Hon Akintayo stressed that the Governor’s move demonstrates his focus on creating an enabling environment for efficient governance and public service delivery, ” By investing in modern infrastructure, Governor Makinde is not only boosting the state’s physical landscape but also sending a strong message about his administration’s priorities. The new building will enhance productivity, improve working conditions for government employees, and provide better services to citizens”.

Akintayo stressed that this development aligns with Makinde’s broader vision for Oyo State, which includes promoting economic growth, social inclusion, and good governance as this significant infrastructure project which is the first of its kind dispels allegations of undermining the local government structure adding that, the governor announced plans to convert ad-hoc workers to permanent staff will tremendously bridge the workforce gap and enhance productivity.

Monumental Legacy

Furthermore, the Oyo State Government’s approval of the recruitment of 791 officers into the mainstream civil service demonstrates Governor Makinde’s dedication to the state’s growth. This massive recruitment will absorb 230 Education Officers and 561 officers into various cadres, Akintayo said.

“Governor Makinde emphasized his administration’s ongoing collaboration with local government authorities, ensuring the benefits of democracy reach the grassroots. Since taking office in 2019, Makinde has paid primary school teachers’ leave bonuses for 2017-2023 and cleared massive backlogs of pension and gratuities to retirees. The governor has also upgraded 209 Primary Health Care centers, equipped 264 PHCs, and completed 60 model schools in collaboration with local government authorities.”
