Ibadan North-East Chairman Ibrahim Akintayo Rallies Grassroots Support Ahead of PDP National Convention
As the city of Ibadan gears up to host the highly anticipated National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, has intensified mobilisation efforts across the council area, rallying party members, stakeholders, and supporters to participate fully.
Speaking at the council secretariat, Hon. Akintayo described the National Convention as a defining moment for the PDP, particularly in Oyo State, where the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde has set a new benchmark for purposeful leadership, transparency, and sustainable development.
He noted that Ibadan has once again become the centre of political attention, adding that the successful hosting of the convention is an affirmation of the state’s stability, preparedness, and growing influence within the national structure of the party.
Hon. Akintayo urged all PDP members in Ibadan North-East to show strong presence and unity at the event, emphasising that the local government must continue to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to the vision and direction of Governor Makinde and the PDP leadership.
“Ibadan North-East cannot be left behind. This convention is our opportunity to show strength, unity, and loyalty. I am calling on all our party faithful to come out in full force and make their presence felt. We must stand firmly with the governor and with the great future the PDP is building for our state and nation,” he said.
The council boss added that today’s convention is not just a gathering of party leaders but a celebration of progress, organisation, and the renewed hope that the PDP continues to inspire across Nigeria.
He assured residents and party members that the local government is fully prepared to contribute its quota to the success of the event, noting that the eyes of the nation will be on Ibadan.
