Ibadan North Bye-Election: APC Candidate ‘Murphy’ Loses Polling Unit to PDP’s DoN
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election, Hon. Olatunji Adewale, popularly known as Murphy, has lost at his polling unit to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as DoN.

Murphy, who voted at Ward 10, Unit 27, polled only 6 votes, while DoN secured 9 votes.
The outcome came as a surprise to many observers, as candidates often enjoy strong support within their immediate polling units. Political analysts suggest that the result may be an indication of shifting voter preferences in the constituency.

Residents and party supporters who witnessed the counting of ballots described the contest at the unit as peaceful and transparent, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducting the process without hitches.
With Murphy losing in his own unit, attention now turns to the collation center where results from other wards and polling units across Ibadan North Federal Constituency are being compiled to determine the overall winner of the election.
