Governor, Seyi Makinde, today decorated newly elevated high chiefs to the status of Obaship by the Olubadan of Ibadan, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Senator Mohood Olalekan Balogun at the ancient Mapo Hall,
Ladoja, who is the Otun Olubadan and a former governor himself, was noticeably absent from the event. His absence sparked speculations and raised eyebrows among the observers and residents of Ibadanland. However, the reasons behind his absence were not yet known.
Bowamedia.com understands that Ladoja, Otun Olubadan of Ibadan, has been opposed to the tinkering of the Ibadan chieftaincy declaration by the administrations of late former governor Abiola Ajimobi and incumbent Makinde.
Governor Makinde, during the ceremony, emphasized the importance of traditional institutions in fostering peace, unity, and development in the state. He commended the high chiefs for their dedication and promised to support them in their roles.
