.Ibadan Convention: PDP Leaders Dare Wike, Call His Bluff
Peoples Democratic Party governors and party leaders, on Tuesday, threw caution to the wind and dared those threatening the party’s national Convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo state.

Speaking at the inauguration of the party 2025 National Convention Organizing Committee, the Chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed and National Chairman of PDP, Amb. Umar Damagum, said that nothing will hinder the convention and dare Nyesom Wike’s camp to do otherwise.
While Bala said that they cannot keep quiet anymore, but won’t go into the gutter with anyone, Damagum said that convention is sacrosanct, while the Secretary of the Board of Trustees and former governor of Kaduna state, Ahmed Makarfi said that even though the positions of the party have been zoned, any interested member can buy form and go to the field.

Recall that the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike and his group had after their meeting on Monday night threatened that if their demands are not met, the scheduled convention will have issue.
In their communique, the Wike group under the aegis of Eminent Leaders and Concerned Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had said, “It is pertinent to caution that failure to comply with the above resolutions and demands shall render any purported national convention invalid, as legitimate members of the party would be disenfranchised.”
