Ibadan Building Collapse: Governor Makinde Visits Site, Orders Investigation

In response to the disaster that occurred at Jegede Area, Odugbede Street, Olorunsogo, Ibadan, which claimed lives and injured, the Honourable Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Williams Akin-Funmilayo, visited the scene to asses the damage and sympathize with the affected families.

Governor Makinde condemned the incident and assured that his administration would take immediate action to prevent future occurrences. “We are deeply saddened by this tragic event and stand in solidarity with the people of Olorunsogo Ona Ara Local Government,” he said.

During the visit, Mr. Akin-Funmilayo emphasized the importance of regular maintenance and checks on buildings, particularly during the rainy season. “We must prioritize safety and take proactive measures to prevent such tragedies,” Mr. Akin-Funmilayo stressed. “I urge all residents to inspect their homes and report any concerns to the relevant authorities.”
