Ib’ North: Olufade Meets NSCDC Commandant, Seeks Collaboration to Tackle Security Challenges
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ibadan.
This visit comes as part of his commitment to fostering strong relationships with key security agencies since taking office one month ago.
During his visit, Hon. Olufade expressed his gratitude to the NSCDC for their unwavering efforts in safeguarding lives and properties within Ibadan North Local Government.
He said he was happy to meet the state commandant, Dr Padonu Augustine and specifically acknowledged the contributions of CSC Ebun Oluwa, the Divisional Officer for Ibadan North, who was present to welcome the Chairman.
Hon. Olufade urged the NSCDC to continue their diligent work and pledged his administration’s support in addressing the security needs of the local government.
He assured the commandant that his office would respond promptly to any requests from the NSCDC.
In his speech, Commandant Padonu Augustine of the Oyo State NSCDC appreciated Hon. Olufade and his entourage for the visit. He emphasized the importance of the local government’s support, given that the NSCDC command is situated within their jurisdiction.
Commandant Augustine expressed confidence in Hon. Olufade’s leadership as a young chairman and highlighted the potential for collaboration between the local government and the NSCDC to tackle issues such as cultism in secondary schools and other security challenges.
Alhaji Akeem Olatunji, the new Head of Local Government Administration for Ibadan North, also attended the visit.
He assured the command of a continued cordial relationship and pledged the local government’s ongoing support under Hon. Olufade’s vibrant leadership.
