Hon. Olufade, Hon. Akinleye Grace Immanuel College High School’s 35th Anniversary_ Immanuel College High School
The 35th graduation anniversary and reunion of Immanuel College High School’s Class of 1989, known as the Peculiar 89 Set, was a memorable event graced by distinguished guests, including the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, and the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Wole Akinleye.
The event, held at Immanuel College High School, featured the commissioning of a newly replaced building roof, a project undertaken in partnership with Bluechip Technologies Ltd.
The ceremony underscored the alumni’s dedication to improving their alma mater.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, expressed gratitude to Hon. Wole Akinleye for joining him at the event and praised the 1989 set for their significant contribution.
“This achievement by the 1989 set is very encouraging,” said Hon. Olufade.
“It sends a powerful message to current students about the importance of giving back to one’s alma mater.”
He commended the alumni for their foresight in ensuring a better future for the students and assured them of his unwavering support.
Hon. Olufade also highlighted Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to educational development in Oyo State, promising continuous infrastructural improvements in secondary and primary schools.
The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Wole Akinleye, also shared his joy in participating in the event, noting his dual connection to both Akinyele and Ibadan North Local Governments.
He emphasized the significance of giving back to the school that shaped their lives.
“This occasion is meaningful as it is about giving back to the alma mater that impacted everyone and shaped their lives,” said Hon. Akinleye.
He lauded the alumni for their efforts in completing the project despite economic challenges and highlighted the positive impact the new roof would have on the students’ learning environment.
The Immanuel College High School 1989 Set expressed their gratitude to the chairmen for honoring their invitation and prayed for their continued success and guidance.
The ceremony concluded with the formal commissioning of the newly replaced roof, marking a milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance the school’s infrastructure and provide a conducive learning environment for the students.
