Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as Don, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation after being elected as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the upcoming bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, scheduled for August 16, 2025.

Oyekunle emerged through a democratic process by the ad-hoc delegate congress held last week Friday at the Ibadan North PDP Secretariat, which led to his unanimous victory at the primary
In his message titled “A Heart of Gratitude,” Oyekunle said the election was a strong sign of the trust and confidence the party and the people of Ibadan North have in him. He promised to approach this responsibility with full dedication, integrity, and a strong focus on the needs of the people.

He also extended deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, who he described as the overall leader and pillar of the party in the state. Oyekunle praised Governor Makinde’s leadership for ensuring a smooth and transparent process.
Oyekunle further thanked the national committee of the PDP for overseeing the process in a professional and unbiased manner, as well as the Oyo State PDP executives for their coordination, support, and commitment to fairness throughout the exercise.

“I do not take this opportunity for granted,” Oyekunle said. “I am truly grateful to the party and to the people of Ibadan North for standing by me. Together, we will build a stronger, more progressive constituency.”
“Thank you, Ibadan North. Thank you, PDP,” he concluded.
