Hijrah: Ido LG Chair, Adeojo Greets Muslims On New Hijrah Year 1446
The executive chairman, of the Ido local government area of Oyo state, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo on Sunday congratulates the Muslim community especially Ido LG residents on the dawn of a new Islamic (calendar) year 1446 AH, praying to the God Almighty to let the year bring ease and an end to the economic hardship in the country.
Adeojo made the congratulatory message as the Muslims in Oyo state, Nigeria join the global community to mark Hijra 1446AH, the start of a new calendar year.
He advised the Ummah to sustain their prayers for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria. The Ido LG council chairman emphasized the need for Muslims to always live their lives by the teachings of the Quran and Hadith
In his released statement, the council chairman commemorated and celebrated the new Islamic calendar year with the Muslim Faithful. He also commended the executive governor of Oyo state for recognizing the importance of the Hijrah in the lives of Muslim brothers and sisters.
The statement read, “ We thank Allah for sparing our lives to witness another new year. This is a grace and blessing from Allah,”
” As we remember the noble values exemplified by the Prophet Mohammad, may peace be upon him, in spreading the great message of Islam, and may this new year bring us closer to achieving a society that prioritizes justice, compassion, and equality for all and brings goodness and blessings to our LG, state, Nigeria, and the Muslim community”, Adeojo prayed.
Adeojo also commended, the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde for declaring Monday 8th as a work-free day for the celebration of Islamic New Year as a gesture of respect and solidarity with the Muslim community.
He thereafter called for tolerance, mutual respect, and compassion among Oyo state residents, irrespective of their beliefs and tribe.
