The bank responded by filing a defamation lawsuit, which led to the bloggers’ arrest and detention.

Odinkalu’s condemnation of GTBank’s actions has sparked widespread outrage, with many Nigerians taking to social media to express their support for the detained bloggers and call for their release.

The incident has raised concerns about the growing trend of powerful individuals and organizations using the courts to silence critics and stifle free speech.

Odinkalu’s call for a boycott of GTBank has added momentum to the growing movement to hold the bank accountable for its actions.
