Gov. Makinde Set to Commission Ultra-Modern LG Service Commission Complex October 2

The Executive Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde has disclosed the plan to officially commission the newly constructed Ultra-Modern Local Government (LG) Service Commission Complex on October 2nd to commemorate
Nigeria’s independence day celebration.

Impressed by the work done shortly after an unscheduled inspection to the new facility, Governor Makinde said, the complex is a way of acknowledging the importance of Local Government Service and its workforce in the state.

Addressing newsmen yesterday after the inspection tour of the untra modern complex with another building for local government staff training, the governor hinted that the facility gives credence to the robust relationship between the state and local government administration in Oyo state.

During the inspection tour, Governor Makinde emphasized the importance of modernizing infrastructure to enhance the efficiency of local government operations.

He maintained that the new facility was not just a building but a representation of his administration’s commitment to providing better and conducive working environment for the labor force.

The governor regretted that there was no brand new building facility for Local Government Service Commission until his administration came on board and initiated the project.

“Before this administration, I was looking for any brand new building within the secretariat, I didn’t find any, but at least we’ve started this and I’m sure there are few things that we will do that will make the working environment conducive for the workers so that we can all be more productive.” Governor Makinde said.

In his brief remarks, the President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Oyo state chapter, Comrade Ayobami Adeogun, commended the governor for hus visionary leadership and pragmatic approach to governance.

He maintained that the ultra modern Local Government Service Commission complex would not only enhance efficiency and productivity of its members but also serve as a training center for workers capacity building.

While expressing appreciation to the governor on behalf of local government staff in the state, Adeogun assured that local government staff in the state would would make judicious use of the facility.

“This facility will empower our local government staff and enhance their ability to deliver quality services to the grassroots.” Comrade Adeogun said.

In company of the governor for the facility inspection were the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Professor Olanike Adeyemo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Dr Remi Ayodele, Permanent Secretary, Oyo State local government service commission, Deacon Taiwo Olafimihan Adewale, Chairman, Government Pension Board, Honorable Ademola Ige, and other state functionaries
