Fire Outbreak: Egbeda LG Chairman Visits Bola Ige Market, Urges Safety Compliance

In his efforts to glorify God Almighty in the lives of business owners at Bola Ige International market on the recent fire disaster that occurred at the market, the Executive Chairman of Egbeda local government, Hon Sanda Sikiru Oyedele paid sympathy visit to leaders of Gbagi market.

While welcoming the chairman and his entourage to the market, the Babaloja of Gbagi market, Alhaji Mukaila Adebayo narrated the unfortunate incident that source to the spark was caused by an improperly installed solar energy system, and fire service was contacted for immediate action with the assistance of Oyo State fire service that deployed two fire trucks to the scene, ensuring the fire was contained before it could spread to adjoining shops, thereby minimising damage and potential losses.

Similarly, the Babaloja General, Alhaji Y.K Abass commended the fire service team for their rapid intervention, noted that, their quick response played a crucial role in averting significant damage and safeguarding lives and property in the market.

Monumental Legacy

The Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja (DR) Monsurat Ayobami Alaga gives thanks to Almighty God that no casualty was recorded, prayed to God to continue to safeguard business owners in the market.

Hon. Sanda in his message, sympathized and advised market leaders to adopt fire prevention by calling on business owners in Bola Ige International market to prioritise compliance with safety regulation practices and device strategies to prevent future occurrence.

The chairman used the avenue to visit the fire service office at Gbagi market, and promised to repair the grounded fire fighter vehicle as soon as possible.
