The Outgoing National President of the Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union in person of Aare Fakolade Anuoluwapo Timfak has congratulated the newly elected executives of the Federation of Ibadan Students Union (National Council) in the just concluded Election held last Saturday at Ibadan House.

The congratulatory message reads ;

Sarumi

The supreme quality of leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a section gang, on a football field, in an army, or in an office – Martin Luther King Jr.

There is no gainsaying that you all campaigned on solid promises. We are all aware, that it has become vogue to promise all sorts of good things for the ‘common men’ only to ride on their back to power and fend for themselves.

Monumental Legacy

This is one thing that student activists cum politicians have inherited from our political leaders. In fairness to them, they all had their constraints but I think one of the qualities of a good leader is the foresight to envisage these constraints and plan to surmount them.

It is in this light that I urge the newly elected FIBSU National Executives to agitate and tackle students’ yearning with a realistic app.

Akinsete

I am hoping that you will all do and fulfill your promises made during the electioneering campaigns, letting you know that the Federation of Ibadan Students Union has a lot of hope in you all.

Your election itself shows how much the FIBSUITES love and trust you. You have worked hard for this and they appreciate it.

I wish you a successful tenure and hope that your hard work brings you higher responsibilities and positions in your endeavors in life. On behalf of FIBSU National Executives.

I would like to appreciate the presence of the Chairman FIBSU National Alumni, SSA on Student Affairs to the Oyo State Governor, all security personnel like the Nigeria Police Force and The Department of State Services (DSS) who take their time to observe and witness the peaceful election.

Lastly, it would be cowardly of me to ignore the circulated news by a faceless personality whose name and phone number are untraceable as a means of assassinating my personality. “He who comes for equity must come with clean hands”, if your candidate lost an election doesn’t mean you go around denting my personality as the election has come and gone.

When I came in as the Union President, I indeed heard FIBSU has a bus not even two as claimed by the faceless person, it wasn’t handed over to me by my immediate predecessor after my inauguration, I didn’t even know if the bus is red or black so how will I sold a bus I didn’t see. Maybe the accusers should meet my predecessors for clarification, Hon. Idris Kolapo Kola-Daisi is a generous man whose name shouldn’t drag to mud, he gave bursaries of 10nairasnaira each to 60 students in various tertiary institutions while we are still appreciating him till today, there is should be fact in our dealings as a good leadership consists of showing average people how to do the work of superior people; Timfak concluded.
