Egbeda LG Boss Sanda Approves ₦500,000 for Replacement of Stolen Transformer Cables in Oke Koto Zone

The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, has approved the sum of ₦500,000 for the immediate replacement of stolen transformer cable wires serving Oke Koto, Orelope, Adeojo and surrounding communities in Ward 11 of the Oke Koto zone.

The approval was formally conveyed by the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Sola Olakanmi, who represented the Executive Chairman during a visit to the affected communities. Hon. Olakanmi assured residents of the Chairman’s commitment to restoring electricity without delay and ensuring that no part of the local government is left in darkness.

The intervention follows the recent theft of crucial transformer cables, which left the communities in blackout and disrupted social and economic activities. Residents had expressed growing concern over the increasing vandalisation of power infrastructure in the area.

Hon. Sanda, through his representative, emphasized that his administration remains dedicated to improving public welfare and responding swiftly to community needs. He added that the council is strengthening collaboration with security agencies and local vigilante groups to curb vandalism of public facilities.

Community members of Oke Koto, Orelope, Adeojo and neighbouring areas expressed appreciation for the prompt response, describing the intervention as timely and a relief to households and businesses affected by the outage.
