Donation of utility items: Oyo CP, Odukoya, others laud Agboworin for toeing Makinde’s path on security

The lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency** in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), on Thursday, presented empowerment items to various security agencies operating within his constituency as part of his continued efforts to enhance their efficiency and welfare.

The beneficiary agencies include the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Operation Burst and the Amotekun Corps.

Items donated to the agencies include refrigerators, generating sets, printers, water dispensers, industrial fans, and valuable stationery materials.

In his remarks, Agboworin explained that the initiative was designed to complement the efforts of the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, in strengthening the state’s security architecture.

“We need to remember our security agencies,” he said. “I am doing this because they have been doing well and deserve to be motivated. Given my background in the military, I understand how crucial their role is. Imagine what would happen if our security agencies decided to go on strike for just one week.

I also want to urge other politicians who have the capacity to emulate this gesture and support our security personnel.”

Representing the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, DC Operations Ekanem Usen commended the lawmaker for the thoughtful initiative, describing it as timely and impactful.

“We have seen several empowerment programmes you have carried out, and we must commend you for remembering the security agencies. These operational tools will go a long way in improving our work before, during, and after operations,” he said.

Similarly, the **Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security, CP Sunday Odukoya (rtd.), lauded Agboworin for aligning with the governor’s commitment to a safer Oyo State.

“What Hon. Agboworin has done today is another commendable contribution to the state’s security framework. If more leaders emulate this example, insecurity in Oyo State will be reduced to the barest minimum,” Odukoya noted.

Beneficiaries of the gesture include the Oyo State Police Command Headquarters, DSS Headquarters, Oyo State Amotekun Office, Operation Burst, and divisional offices such as Idi-Ape, Agugu, Felele, Idi-Aro, and Mapo Police Stations, as well as DSS and NSCDC offices across Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East local governments.
