Division and Anti-Party Activities Threaten PDP’s Victory in Afijio: Stakeholders Seek Gov. Makinde, State Excos Intervention

Dear Governor Seyi Makinde and PDP State Executives,
We, the concerned stakeholders of the PDP in Afijio Local Government, are writing to bring to your attention the urgent need for intervention in the party affairs of our local government. As we approach the Congress, we fear that if nothing is done to ensure equity and fairness, it may affect our party’s victory at the polls.

The harsh reality is that Afijio PDP is divided into two factions, and anyone who denies this is deceiving themselves. This division is largely due to leader greed and selfishness. Unlike other local governments, Afijio does not have a sole leadership but rather a set of leaders recognized by each faction.
What’s more alarming is that most of these leaders are involved in anti-party activities, which makes it risky to leave party affairs in their hands. The recent appointments made by the party are a clear example of this. Instead of considering the core youth in the party, these leaders turned the appointment process into family affairs, leaving those who have worked tirelessly for the party to suffer neglect.

Hence we appeal that in wherever decision to be made by the party in afojio should be made by the two factions to ensure that equity and fairness are served ahead of the forthcoming Congress. The PDP affairs in Afijio have always been a one-man affair, which has created division and will continue to do so if not addressed.

We pass a vote of confidence in your leadership, Governor Makinde, and the state party executives for the tremendous work you’ve done to position Oyo State at the edge. We eagerly await your prompt intervention to address these issues and ensure a united PDP in Afijio.
Sincerely,
Hon. Arabambi Afijio
On behalf of Concerned Stakeholders of PDP, Afijio Local Government
