Deputy Speakership: Religious Leaders Throw Weight Behind Akinremi Jagaban, Says His Stance For Christian And Muslim Bilateral Relationship Is Undiluted

A coalition of Christian bodies across Nigeria, under the aegis of the Christian Movement of Nigeria, (CMN), has joined a long list of prominent groups, and individuals, home and abroad who have expressed confidence in the candidature of Hon. Prince Olaide Akinremi Jagaban, for the Deputy Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives.

 

The Coalition in a Statement issued and signed by its National Coordinator, Pastor Dare Akinbiyi on Wednesday said that after a thorough review and fact checks, the Group agreed with the decisions of scores of leaders who are in tandem with the aspiration of Hon. Akinremi, saying, “Akinremi is a detribalized Nigerian with the blend of tolerant in the nation’s major religious settings.

Akinbiyi stressed that Akinremi Jagaban has earned the respect of his colleagues in the Green Chamber, and that of the electorates.

 

People from Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Oyo State, and Nigeria, in general, know him as a very loyal and forthright gentleman who never betrays any cause to which he is committed.

“This, he displayed when he garner all arsenals to earn the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Sen. Kassim Shettima the popular votes in the last Presidential elections in the State.

His forthrightness and frankness sometimes pitch him against those who would prefer guile and deception, but for Prince Olaide Akinremi Jagaban, fidelity is the highest form of honor.

Pastor Dare also noted that Akinremi Jagaban’s stance on the Christian and Muslim bilateral relationship is undiluted.

 

“as a visionary leader, He always inspired others to lead, to innovate, to grow, to develop and explore, not minding which religion or tribe you are from.

 

“Our decision is also based on the fact that Akinremi Jagaban has always called for the need to embrace interreligious harmony, especially, unity between Muslims and Christians, this is for the common good of all of us and more reason we are confident of him and want him to excel in this quest.

He affirmed that the country at this moment needs leaders who are pragmatic and not segmental in their dealings, urging the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shetima, to give Akinremi Jagaban, the desired support.

Akinbiyi however prayed that God will partner Akinremi’s desire to lead in a higher capacity, adding, “The Lord will show you (Akinremi), mercy and grace to attain this height, we are ready to do the needful while your victory will be glorious, “ he prayed.
