In a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mayowa Okekale, and made available to journalists on Wednesday, Agboworin acknowledged the challenges facing the country, including poverty, unemployment, insecurity, human rights abuse, inequality among others.

He, however, expressed optimism that with collective efforts, Nigeria can overcome these challenges and achieve sustainable economic growth and development.

While calling on Nigerians to remain steadfast and keep faith with democracy, he equally urged the government, at all levels, to prioritize policies that will promote economic growth, job creation, and social justice.

The statement read, “While we celebrate our democracy today, we must also acknowledge the struggles of our people. I know we are faced with plethora of challenges including poverty, unemployment, inequality and all that but I think we should not let them define us. Today is the day we remember the years before and look at the possibilities before us in order to strive for even a better future.

“As citizens, I want to urge us to work together to create opportunities for ourselves in the best way we can; to ensure that our economy grows, and that our people prosper.

“Government at all levels need to create an enabling environment that encourages investment, innovation, and entrepreneurship. We need to invest in our infrastructure, education, and healthcare. We need to support our small businesses and empower our youths. We need to work together to build a Nigeria that is prosperous, just, and equitable for all.

“Let us work together to build a Nigeria where prosperity overcomes poverty; where every citizen has access to opportunities, and where our democracy becomes a beacon of hope for generations to come.”
