Copacapana CEO, Ahmed Ajibola, Named Oyo State Coordinator of City Boy Movement
The City Boy Movement (CBM) has announced the appointment of Chief Ahmed Ajibola, Chief Executive Officer of Copacapana, as its Oyo State Coordinator, effective January 1, 2026.
The appointment was formally communicated in a letter dated February 6, 2026, issued by the national leadership of the Movement and made available to journalists. With this development, Ajibola is entrusted with overseeing and coordinating the activities of the City Boy Movement across Oyo State.
The appointment letter was signed by the director general of the City Boy movement Hon francis shoga in the presence of Hon Olamiju Alao akala a federal house of reps member and Oyo state director for city boy movement
According to the national leadership, the appointment followed Ajibola’s demonstrated competence, unwavering commitment, and consistent loyalty to the ideals and vision of the Movement. The leadership expressed strong confidence in his capacity to provide strategic direction, strengthen internal cohesion, and mobilise members effectively at the grassroots level.
In his new role, Ajibola is expected to spearhead grassroots engagement, enhance coordination among members across the state, and support the execution of national and state-level programmes. He will also play a central role in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly through sustained mobilisation and political advocacy in Oyo State.
The City Boy Movement further noted that Ajibola’s leadership will be pivotal to its strategic mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections, with a clear focus on consolidating and expanding support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The appointment was made under the authority of the City Boy Movement, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu serving as the Grand Patron of the organisation and Seyi Tinubu as its Patron.
The City Boy Movement is a pro-Tinubu support group renowned for its robust grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement, and advocacy initiatives across several states of the federation.
Reacting to his appointment, Ajibola expressed profound appreciation to the national leadership of the City Boy Movement for the confidence reposed in him, describing the role as both an honour and a call to service. He specifically commended the Director-General of the Movement, Hon. Fancis Shoga, for his visionary leadership, and the Oyo State Director, Hon. Lamiju Akala, for his unwavering support and cooperation.
Ajibola reaffirmed his total commitment to the ideals of the City Boy Movement and pledged unflinching support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He assured that, under his coordination, the Movement would intensify grassroots engagement and work tirelessly to consolidate support across all 33 local governments and 351 wards in Oyo state in preparation for future electoral milestones
