I have carefully read the statement credited to the Hon. Minister for Works regarding the encounter between the Hon. Minister and the Member, representing Ido/Ibarapa Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, Hon. Eng. Remi Oseni.
I see that people are already trying to make issues from the Hon. Minister’s purported reaction to the observations made by Oseni with regards to the state of Nigeria’s Federal Roads and what he thought ought to be the priorities of the Ministry.
Eng. Remi Oseni is the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on the Federal Emergency Roads Maintenance Agency, ( FERMA).
As Chairman of such a sensitive Committee, Oseni must definitely be in possession of accurate information about the feelings of Nigerians concerning the priorities of the Ministry of Works vis a vis, what is and what ought to be.
For me, the Chairman of FERMA must have approached the issues from that angle and it is normal.
What were the issues raised by Oseni?
He rightly called the attention of the Minister to the issue of priorities.
He rightly advised the Ministry to focus much more on the rehabilitation of existing Roads as against making fresh awards that are not being executed with speed or at least, make sure there is balance.
That is a valid point which would help the Government of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed in the areas of Road infrastructures across the Country.
I have watched the video clip over and over.
I do not agree that Eng. Oseni did something unnatural.
I think he was driven by the passion to ensure that president Tinubu succeeds.
I am equally certain that the Hon. Minister for Works have the same mind.
Sincere engagements like this are required to help Government to flourish and I’m sure the Hon. Minister knows this.
I have equally read the response credited to the Hon. Minister as being his reply to the observations made by Hon. Oseni.
When I read the headline, I just laughed. I knew men of the pen are at work.
I think the Minister must have misinterpreted the intentions of Oseni because of the emotional comments, if indeed the statements credited to him were correct.
I am sure both of them who, I am certain are working for the good of the Tinubu Administration would find a common ground in the end.
I did not see anyone blasting anybody. I think the Media are just trying to sell.
The last time I checked, both Umai and Oseni are from the Ruling Party. So, where is the need for controversy, since it is the responsibilities of both to ensure that the Bola Tinubu Administration succeeds?
I just saw passion for success from the on the two sides.
Like I said, Eng. Oseni made valid points and I’m sure the Hon. Minister will definitely take to the counsel by the Chairman of the House Committee on FERMA at some point
