The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, has congratulated Chief Bayo Lawal, Senator Monsurat Sumonu, and others on their appointments as the party’s electoral management committee for the forthcoming local government election in the state.
Akintayo, in a press statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, on Thursday, described Chief Bayo Lawal as a man endowed with political competence and experience.
He added that Chief Lawal has a large capacity to drive the development of his mandate areas, adding the he has the political wherewithal to deliver.
While expressing appreciation to the leadership of Oyo State PDP for appointing the political leader of Ibadan North East, Akintayo maintained that it is a step in the right direction.
The Chairman equally commended the Governor of the state, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, for the selection of very highly esteemed leaders to coordinate and oversee the processes of the forthcoming Local Government Council Elections.
The statement read, “I want to congratulate a political figure, Chief Bayo Lawal, and other appointed members of the local government Election Management Committee.
“Also, I appreciate the leadership style of our dear governor through his selective acumen in placing a round peg in a round hole. I have no doubt that this selection will give birth to a fruitful outcome for the local government areas and the state at large.
“I am very sure Baba Lawal would deploy his expertise to meet the huge expectations of the party and the state as a whole.
“For PDP as a party, the choice of Chief Bayo Lawal is a step in the right direction and I am certain that he will bring his political experience to bear to actualize fruition in his new assignment.”
Akintayo, however, charged everyone in the committee to work together to fulfill the expectations of the party and yield victory for all the party’s candidates at the poll.
