Nyesom Wike, the new minister of the FCT, says any house built in contravention of the city’s master plan will be demolished.
Wike said this immediately after he was inaugurated as one of President Bola Tinubu’s ministers on Monday.
“People who are distorting the master plan of Abuja, it is too bad. If you know you have built where you are not supposed to build, it will go down. Be you Minister or Ambassador, it will go down.
“Those who have taken over the green areas to build, I am sorry, your house must go down. So, if you have anybody who is involved, tell them we will not accept that.
“If your father has done that, sorry. If your mother has done that, sorry. There is nothing I can do, it will go down. Those people who the government has allocated lands to and refused to develop, I am sorry, the land is gone.”
