Omotayo emphasized, “The traditional ruler is deeply committed to addressing this issue and has consistently urged all those seeking justice to do so responsibly and within the confines of the law. She made it clear that the Kabiesi will not tolerate any attempt, regardless of the individual’s status or societal position, to besmirch his reputation for personal gain.”

Additionally, it was reiterated that Oba Elegushi had no prior contact with the late Aloba, his spouse, or any family member, and hoped that this clarification would put an end to baseless accusations dragging him into the situation.

Monumental Legacy

She said, “Kabiesi expressed his wish as a father and a leader to see the truth behind Mohbad’s demise come to light, a sentiment he conveyed unequivocally to Mr. Josiah Aloba, Mohbad’s father, during their meeting at the Zone 2 Headquarters of the Nigeria Police in Onikan. Mr. Aloba was summoned for questioning regarding unfounded statements and accusations against Kabiesi.”

Furthermore, it was noted that Oba Elegushi exhibited compassion during the encounter, ensuring that Mr. Aloba was not detained by the Police, as his primary concern was to ensure justice for Mohbad and his family, rather than oppression.

The trial of the two accused individuals is scheduled to resume on July 5, 2024, at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.
