The Executive Chairman of Ido local government of Oyo State, Hon. Sherrif Adeojo, has taken his thank you tour to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ido chapter, thanking the body for standing by him during the just-concluded election.

The chairman, who went on the visitation with some chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the local government, expressed his appreciation for the support accorded him and his councillors in the April 27 local government election.

The chairman said his campaign promises remain sacrosanct as his second term achievements would surpass those of his first term.

Addressing the gathering, Adeojo said: “As your son, I am here before you today to wholeheartedly appreciate your kind support for my reelection as the local government chairman.

Monumental Legacy

“My coming here is also to let you know that I am not taking the fatherly role you all took for granted.

“Let me also add that the programmes I have for the people remain sacrosanct and I will pursue the implementation process diligently.

“The Bible says ‘the end of a thing shall be better than the beginning thereof’. So, I can assure you that this tenure will be better than the first in terms of delivery of dividends of democracy to our people.”

Responding, the CAN chairman, Reverend Femi Aladeselu, on behalf of the Christian body, promised to continue to support the chairman with prayer to make all his promises come to pass.

“Hon. Adeojo, you have done well in the past and we believe you can do better for the people. God has put you in that leadership position to govern your people and you must do everything within your power to please God.

“In any case, we will continue to support you with prayers so that your second term administration will yield more dividends for the people of this local government,” Rev. Aladeselu stated.
