Ibadan North-East PDP Hosts New Year Party, Declares Unwavering Support For LG Chair, Akintayo, For Second Term

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Ibadan Northeast Local Government, on Thursday, held a ceremonious New Year party, epitomizing camaraderie and shared aspirations for the future of the party

At the carnival-like event, which was held at the St. Cyprians Primary School, Oke Adu, Ibadan, North-East LG, the event brought together political bigwigs, esteemed party faithful at the grassroots level, and a crowd of supporters.

The host of the event, Honorable Ibrahim Akintayo, who is also the Chairman of Ibadan expressed gratitude to supporters and other dignitaries who attended the annual celebration, aimed at thanking God for the beginning of a new year in the party.

Monumental Legacy

The occasion, which saw the atmosphere buzzed with excitement with the large turnout of attendees, was a testament to the party’s commitment to fostering unity and collaboration among the party members.

Against the backdrop of shared values and aspirations, the event served as a platform for reflection on past achievements and renewed dedication to the party’s vision for progress and development in Ibadan Northeast.

Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo’s presence underscored the party’s unwavering support for his immense grassroots performance, engagement, and inclusivity.

Similarly, at the event, supporters and stakeholders once more endorsed and expressed their full support for the candidature of Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo and the rest of the councilorship candidates ahead of the forthcoming local government election.

In further portraying the level of unity in the local government area, the event featured party members in a ward-by-ward dancing competition and the best dancers were given cash prizes.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Akintayo, expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all attendees for their unprecedented show of unwavering support and commitment to the party’s vision and for believing in his candidature.

“I am happy for a day like this where we have to celebrate, dance, w,ine, and dine like a family. This has further shown me that we are one and we have to maintain this course. I must sincerely thank you all for coming,” Akintayo stated.

The member representing Ibadan NorthEast/SouthEast federal constituency, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin, who also graced the event, in his brief remark, urged the party members to support Akintayo for a second-term bid.

“In my case, we went the to Tribunal and Appeal Court but God still took control and we won. So, I give the glory to Him.

“Now, I want to tell you that the forthcoming election you are preparing for, you have a lot of work to do. It is a great job that is ahead of you, which you must fulfill. And I believe you will do just that for our man, Akintayo. This time around, he will win again.

“I also want to seize this avenue to appreciate you for the votes you used to elect me, and you have to replicate that in the coming LG election,” Agboworin stated.

Also in attendance were Hon. Gbenga Arole; Hon. Abiodun Babalola; Hon. Mogaji Akinajo; Hon. Alaakia; Alhaji Azeez Onideure; Alhaji Ismaila Sondoko; Chief Bayo Lawal; women leader amongst others.
