Oyo Rep’s Member Agboworin Mourns Grand Mufti Of Ibadanland, Sheik Alaga, Says Death Shocking
A member of the House of Representatives from Oyo State, Honourable Abass Adigun, popularly called Agboworin, has expressed grief over the death of the Grand Mufti of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulfatai Alaga, who passed on in the early hours of Tuesday.
The lawmaker, while expressing his condolences to the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abdulganiyu Agbotomokekere and the Muslim Ummah in the state, described the death as sad and shocking.
A statement signed, on Tuesday, by his media aide indicated that the lawmaker equally sympathized with the family, his followers, the government and people of Oyo State, as well as the Nigerian Muslim community over the loss.
He, however, prayed to Allah to grant repose to his soul.
The statement read, “Today, I was shocked and heartbroken upon hearing the news of the death of Grand Mufti of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulfatai Alaga.
“I express my condolences to the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abdulganiyu Agbotomokekere and the Muslim Ummah in Ibadanland on the death of Sheik Alaga.
“Personally, I believe he will be sorely missed as he has even contributed immensely in guiding a large flock of Muslims over the years.”
