Olodo Bridge: Again, Makinde Appeals To Residents, Says ‘I Want To Deliver A Durable Project’
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appealed to the residents of Olodo Area in Ibadan over the collapsed bridge, saying his administration is determined to end their pain and deliver a durable project.
The Governor equally stated that the government is in constant communication with the contractor to ensure timely deliver of the project.
Makinde, who stated these in his official Newsletter dated September 7th, explained that he is making efforts to ensure the project is not done to the detriment of safety and compliance requirements.
He said: “Let me again appeal to our people in Olodo. We understand your pain and the distress you are going through, and we are determined to bring it to an end. We are constantly communicating with the contractor to ensure timely delivery of that project.
“But we also want to deliver a durable project. So, while we are in a hurry to see it completed, we will not be doing this to the detriment of safety and compliance requirements.
“We already changed the bridge’s design to a two-span bridge. So, please be patient with us. Joy cometh in the morning.”
