The member representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin, has distributed more than 600 chairs and other educational materials to schools across the constituency.
The materials, distributed on Monday, included chairs and tables, exercise books and textbooks for school libraries, as part of efforts to improve the learning environment for pupils and students in the federal constituency.

In addition to the educational materials, Agboworin also presented a total of ₦50,000 to the beneficiary schools to support their transportation expenses for the distribution exercise.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Agboworin said the intervention was part of his commitment to supporting education and improving the standard of learning facilities in schools across the constituency.
The lawmaker also promised to commence another round of distribution to cover other schools that were not included in the current phase.

Representing the Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment, Mr. Aluko commended Agboworin for providing quality educational materials. He inspected the materials and expressed satisfaction with their quality.

He urged the beneficiary schools and students to take proper care of the items, noting that their responsible use would encourage the lawmaker to do more in the education sector.

Also speaking, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, Chairman of the Oyo State Pension Board, described Agboworin as a good representative who had continued to perform well as a lawmaker, particularly in the area of education.
He urged the beneficiary schools to put the materials to effective use for the benefit of their students.

The Educational Secretary for Ibadan South-East, Olumide James, and his Ibadan North-East counterpart, Hon. George Akintunde, were also present at the event.

Other dignitaries in attendance included Hon. Abiodun Adedoja Ekolo, Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Oyo State Energy, and Hon. Akinleye, Special Adviser to the goGovernorn Youth Development.

Beneficiary schools in Ibadan South-East included Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Orita Aperin; Ibadan City Academy Grammar School; Ibadan Grammar School; Anglican Grammar School, Molete; St. Luke Secondary School, Molete; Community Grammar School, Kudeti; IMG School; Alake Primary School; Bolatinwa Nursery and Primary School; Green Valley Nursery and Primary School; and Four Square Nursery and Primary School.

Schools in Ibadan North-East that benefited included Loyola College, HLA Agodi, Bashorun High School, Renascent High School, Oluyoro Girls High School, St. Cyprian Primary School, Lagelu Grammar School, St. John Secondary School and Olubadan High School.

The latest intervention adds to several education-related initiatives credited to Agboworin during the 9th and 10th National Assemblies.

According to a record of his interventions, he had sustained tutorial classes for SS2, SS3 and JAMB candidates seeking admission into higher institutions within the constituency.
He has also supported students with JAMB forms since 2019, with three students from his tutorial centres reportedly emerging among the best-performing students in Oyo State in 2020.

Other interventions include support and cash donations to Omoyeni Special Basic Home for the Blind, Orita-Aperin, Ibadan, in February 2024; the distribution of thousands of school bags, notebooks and textbooks to primary and junior secondary school students in February 2024; and the completion and commissioning of a three-classroom block equipped with chairs, tables, fans and other facilities at St. Paul Anglican School, Yanbule, Ibadan North-East, in August 2024.

In November 2024, Agboworin also facilitated the construction of a six-classroom block at St. Joseph Primary School, Ile-Aperin, Ibadan North-East.

Other listed interventions include the commissioning of the Nigeria School of Finance and Statistics at the 671 Nigerian Air Force Base, Ajia, Ibadan; a ₦500,000 support to students representing Ibadan South-East Local Government at the 2025 CCII competition; and a proposed classroom project at St. Eunans, Idi-Ope, Odo-Oba Ward 10, Ibadan South-East.
