The Bimbo Adekanmbi Governorship Campaign Council of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State has announced the appointment of seasoned media professionals and journalists into its Media and Publicity Sub-Committee ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, are aimed at strengthening the campaign’s communication, media engagement and public information efforts.
Leading the committee is Mr. Yinka Oladoyinbo, who has been appointed Director of Communication and Spokesperson.
Other appointments include Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, as Co-Director/Spokesperson, while Ms. Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa, Mr. Dapo Falade, Mrs. Bosede Sodiq, Mr. Moses Alao and Mr. Fisayo Daramola will serve as Deputy Directors.
Oladoyinbo is a Deputy Editor of the Nigerian Tribune and a journalist with 27 years of post-qualification experience. He has previously worked with Daily Trust and The Punch, serving as State Correspondent in Lagos, Ondo and Kogi States.
He is also a grassroots politician and recently served as Secretary of Ibadan South-West Local Government. He currently heads the Politics Desk of the Nigerian Tribune, Nigeria’s oldest surviving newspaper.
Also appointed as Deputy Director is Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa, a radio and television broadcast professional with more than 16 years of experience in Nigeria’s media industry.
Giwa-Onafuwa, who holds a Master’s degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan, has twice served as a General Manager in the broadcast industry. She is also a TEDx speaker, professional Master of Ceremonies and content creator, while serving on the boards of Educare Trust and Alliance Française Ibadan.
Another member of the team, Dapo Falade, is a journalist with more than two decades of experience covering politics and public affairs.
Falade built his journalism career with the Nigerian Tribune, rising to the position of Deputy Editor. He has served as State Correspondent in Ekiti and Rivers States and as Lead Senate Correspondent in Abuja.
In May 2020, he founded Newscoven.com, a digital news platform focused on political and public-interest journalism.
The campaign council said the appointments take immediate effect as the APM prepares for its governorship campaign in Oyo State.
