Mogaji Alabi, while speaking on the political situation in Oyo State, said Ibadan indigenes should not forget what he described as the significant contributions of Governor Makinde to the development of Ibadan and the state.

According to him, Makinde’s administration has implemented projects and policies that have positively impacted the traditional institution, infrastructure and welfare of the people.

He specifically cited the completion of the new Olubadan Palace, which he described as a befitting edifice for the heritage and traditional institution of Ibadanland.

He also commended the administration for the upgrading of Alakia Airport, saying the development has strengthened Ibadan’s connection to other parts of the country and the world.

Mogaji Alabi further praised the governor’s attention to workers’ welfare, particularly the payment of salaries and pensions, as well as the construction of modern bus terminals across Ibadan.

He said the projects and policies represented reasons why he personally believes Governor Makinde deserves the support of Ibadan indigenes.

“As an Ibadan indigene, I say this with my full chest: no son or daughter of Ibadan, and no traditional ruler in Oyo State, will forget what His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, has done for us,” he said.

Describing Makinde as “a Yoruba man, an Ibadan indigene and a son of the soil,” Mogaji Alabi said the governor’s record in Ibadan and Oyo State should be taken into consideration when the people make their political decisions in 2027.

“This is our time. This is our son. For all these reasons and more, we must stand with him and support him,” he declared.

Mogaji Alabi, however, made it clear that his endorsement represents his own political choice, saying he would personally support Engr. Seyi Makinde for President and Bimbo Adekanmbi for Governor in the 2027 general elections.

He urged other Ibadan stakeholders and residents to assess the performance of the present administration and make their political choices based on what they believe is in the best interest of the people.

His declaration comes amid growing political discussions among Ibadan traditional stakeholders and community leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.
