2 Years On: Olufade Honours Late Hon. Musiliu Akinremi Jagaban, Describes Him as an Icon of People-Centred Leadership

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has paid glowing tribute to the late former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi (Jagaban), as Nigerians commemorate the second anniversary of his passing.

In a heartfelt remembrance message issued on Friday through his head of media, Aderibigbe Yisahu, Olufade described the late federal lawmaker as an exceptional leader whose remarkable contributions to the development of Ibadan North Federal Constituency continue to inspire generations.
According to the council chairman, Jagaban distinguished himself through purposeful and people-centred representation, setting a standard that remains a reference point in the constituency’s political history.

“Two years after his transition, the memories of Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi remain evergreen in our hearts. He redefined quality representation by ensuring that the dividends of democracy reached every segment of our constituency, irrespective of political affiliation.
His commitment was to the people first, and that singular quality earned him the admiration and respect of many,” Olufade stated.

The chairman noted that the late lawmaker’s inclusive approach to governance, humility, accessibility, and compassion made him one of the most beloved political figures to have represented Ibadan North Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
Olufade further expressed pride in sharing the same constituency with the late Jagaban, describing him as a worthy ambassador whose outstanding performance brought honour and recognition to Ibadan North.
“I remain proud to come from the same constituency as Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi. He represented Ibadan North with dignity, courage, and uncommon dedication.
Through his quality representation and unwavering commitment to humanity, he projected the image of our constituency positively across the country and left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire public servants,” he added.
Olufade stressed that the late lawmaker’s legacy of selfless service, equity, and inclusive leadership would continue to guide those privileged to serve the people.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the late lawmaker’s soul and urged residents of Ibadan North to continue to uphold the ideals of service, unity, and humanity for which Jagaban was widely known.
“As we mark two years since his departure, we remember not only his achievements but also the values he embodied.
Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi will forever remain in the hearts of the people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency and Oyo State at large.
His legacy will continue to speak for generations to come.”
