KSA Rewards Outstanding Students, Teachers at UCSS Omi-Adio Inter-House Sports

The sports field of United Christian Secondary School, UCSS, Omi-Adio, Ibadan, came alive on Thursday as students, teachers, parents, and stakeholders gathered for the school’s 2026 Inter-House Sports and Athletics Competition. The event, which commenced at 10:00 a.m., celebrated athletic excellence while underscoring the role of education and community support in shaping the future of Oyo State’s youth.

Hon. Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, KSA, who served as Chairman of the Occasion, commended the school management for sustaining a tradition that integrates academic discipline with physical fitness, teamwork, and leadership. The competition featured keenly contested track and field events, relay races, and field displays that highlighted the talent, energy, and sportsmanship of students across the houses.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the championship trophy to the winning house by Hon. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, alongside cash gifts for student winners and the teachers who trained and guided them. The gesture drew wide applause and was described by attendees as a strong statement of support for grassroots education and youth empowerment.


“Events like this remind us that education is not only about academics. Sports build confidence, resilience, and leadership in our children,” Hon. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji said. “When we invest in our schools and extracurricular activities, we are investing directly in the future of Oyo State. We are building leaders, professionals, and responsible citizens.”
The school’s leadership, led by Senior Principal Mrs. Adelabu D. O. and Junior Principal Mr. Taiwo O. O., expressed appreciation for Hon. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji’s continued support. They called for stronger collaboration between schools, alumni, and public-spirited individuals to advance education and sports development in the state.

Also in attendance were Mr. Wahab S. O., Chairman of the Sports Committee; Mr. Olofe B. M., Secretary of the Sports Committee; and Mr. Dauda A., Sports Director and Treasurer, who ensured the smooth coordination of the event. Parents and community members described the atmosphere as one of unity, pride, and renewed hope in the potential of young people.
The 2026 edition further reinforced UCSS Omi-Adio’s reputation for holistic education that balances academic achievement with character, discipline, and physical development. Hon.
