Mrs. Olufade Rallies Women Leaders in Ibadan North for Unity, Empowerment, and Stronger Grassroots Governance

The wife of the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Mrs. Olufade Aramide Priscilla, has called for stronger collaboration, unity, and empowerment among women in leadership and governance roles across the local government.
She made this call during an interactive meeting held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Ibadan North Local Government Marriage Registry Hall, where wives of political functionaries, women leaders, and other key stakeholders gathered to discuss issues affecting women and communities.



The meeting was attended by notable personalities including women leaders from the legislative arm, female councillors, wife of vice chairman, wife of political head,wives of Councillors, supervisory councillors, wives of supervisory councillors, wives of special assistants, wives of political office holders, directors within the local government, wives of Local Government Chairmen from across the state as well as the women wings of Ibadan north local government PDP led by the women leader Mrs Adebola Babalola.
In her address, Mrs. Olufade described the gathering as more than a routine meeting, emphasizing that it served as a platform for meaningful dialogue, shared experiences, and collective problem-solving.


“It is a privilege to gather with such a remarkable group of women whose influence, strength, and commitment continue to shape our communities and support the progress of Ibadan North Local Government,” she said.
She noted that women remain the backbone of homes, communities, and governance structures, highlighting their vital roles as partners, leaders, and mobilizer.
According to her, the meeting was designed to further empower women by encouraging collaboration, innovation, and resilience, especially in the face of current economic and social challenges.
Mrs. Olufade urged participants to speak openly, listen actively, and think creatively in proffering solutions that would not only benefit them individually but also uplift the broader society.
She also stressed the importance of focusing on economic empowerment, strengthening social support systems, and promoting leadership development among women to ensure sustainable growth and stability.
Delivering his remarks at the event, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, welcomed all participants to the gathering and expressed appreciation for their presence.
He specially recognized the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, the management of Ibadan North Local Government, wives of Local Government Chairmen in attendance, and wives of all political functionaries present.
Hon. Olufade commended the women for their unwavering support and sacrifices, acknowledging the critical roles they play despite their demanding schedules.
He particularly lauded their endurance and dedication, noting that the success of public office holders is largely influenced by the support they receive at home.
“If the home front is not peaceful, it will reflect in the performance of public office holders,” he stated, adding that the continued prayers and support of the women remain essential for leaders to thrive in their responsibilities.
The Chairman further encouraged the wives of political leaders and stakeholders to sustain such engagements by organizing similar meetings regularly in their respective local governments, rather than limiting them to political periods.
According to him, consistent interactions of this nature would better prepare women, strengthen their capacity, and ultimately enhance the effectiveness of governance at the grassroots level.
“Regular engagement like this will not only prepare our women but also help promote and support the work of public office holders,” he added.
The event concluded with a renewed call for unity, continued service, and a shared commitment to building a stronger and more inclusive Ibadan North Local Government.
