Idris Ibrahim Hails Olasunkanmi Babalola (Sunky)’s Emergence as Egbeda PDP Consensus Candidate

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Idris Ibrahim, has congratulated the lawmaker representing Egbeda State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olasunkanmi Babalola, popularly known as Sunky, on his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate.

Babalola’s candidacy was ratified at a stakeholders’ meeting convened by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, alongside party leaders in Egbeda Local Government. The meeting, held at the Oyo State Secretariat in Ibadan, affirmed him as the PDP’s flagbearer for the constituency.

In a statement, Ibrahim attributed Babalola’s emergence to his track record of constituency development, cordial relationship with party leaders and stakeholders, and commitment to fostering unity within the party.

He noted that these qualities earned the lawmaker the confidence of the party to secure a third-term ticket.

He expressed confidence in the decision of the party leadership, stating that the choice of Babalola reflects the collective will of stakeholders and the desire for continuity in representation.

Ibrahim also commended party leaders and stakeholders in Egbeda Local Government for their steadfastness in upholding unity and supporting continuity within the PDP. He specifically acknowledged the role of Otunba Seye Famojuro for his leadership and efforts in promoting peace and cohesion among party members in the area.

He further urged party leaders, stakeholders, and members to sustain their commitment and work collectively towards ensuring victory for the PDP in the forthcoming elections.
