Just In: Babalola Sunkanmi Clinches PDP Ticket as Stakeholders Endorse Him for Third Term

Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have officially endorsed Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola, popularly known as Sunky, for a third term as the lawmaker representing Egbeda State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, a development that effectively confirms him as the party’s candidate for the forthcoming general election.

The unanimous endorsement was reached during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting attended by party leaders, elders, grassroots mobilisers, and key political figures. The gathering reaffirmed the party’s confidence in Babalola’s leadership, performance, and continued relevance in legislative representation.

With the consensus decision, Hon. Babalola has now clinched the PDP ticket for Egbeda State Constituency, positioning him as the party’s flag bearer ahead of the polls.

Speaking at the meeting, party chieftains commended Babalola for what they described as impactful and people-oriented representation, highlighting his contributions in lawmaking, constituency development, and sustained engagement with the grassroots.

They maintained that his track record and experience made him the natural choice for continuity, noting that his return would further consolidate the gains recorded in the constituency.

“The decision to endorse Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola was unanimous because of his outstanding performance and the trust he has built with the people. Egbeda cannot afford to lose such effective representation,” a stakeholder said.
