Rep Member Oyekunle Visits New Sarikin Hausawa of Ibadanland, Commends Peaceful Transition

The member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), has paid a courtesy visit to the newly installed Sarikin Hausawa of Ibadanland, Alhaji Muhammadu Suhaib Eikko III, following his installation after the demise of the late monarch.


Hon. Oyekunle was accompanied by respected party leader, Hon. Josiah Oladapo, the former LCDA Chairman Aare Latosa, Hon. Kazeem Oshoniyi, Hon. Mayowa Adeniji, councilor representing ward six, Hon. Faira, PDP ward six leaders, political associates, and other aides.

Speaking during the visit, the federal lawmaker said the visit was not only to congratulate the new Sarikin Hausawa on his ascension to the throne, but also to commend the Hausa community in Ibadanland for their unity and maturity in ensuring a peaceful transition within the traditional council.


He lauded the community for their oneness and peaceful conduct throughout the succession process, describing it as a reflection of their commitment to harmony and coexistence. Hon. Oyekunle assured the new monarch of his full support and that of his office, stressing that the Sarikin Hausawa would enjoy the cooperation needed for a peaceful and successful reign.


“This visit is to commend the Hausa community for their unity and to reassure His Royal Highness of our support. We will continue to stand by the traditional institution to ensure peace and progress. I wish the new Sarikin Hausawa a long and peaceful reign,” Oyekunle said.


In his response, the newly installed Sarikin Hausawa of Ibadanland, Alhaji Muhammadu Suhaib Eikko III, expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for the visit, describing it as an honour and a demonstration of goodwill.


He assured Hon. Oyekunle and the Oyo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, of the Hausa community’s continued support, loyalty, and commitment to peaceful coexistence and development at all times.
