Egbeda LG, UNICEF, SATO Champion Sanitation on World Toilet Day, Urge Public to ‘Always Need the Toilet
In a significant stride to celebrate the world toilet day, Egbeda Local Government in partnership with Unicef and SATO part of LIXIX proudly took part in this global awareness.
The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Flagged-Off the campaign at I.D.C Basic school, Olubadan, and emphasized the importance of the toilet, guided by this year’s theme “We’ll always need the toilet” “In a rapidly changing world, one simple truth remains: we will always depend on the toilet. Safe and proper sanitation plays a vital role in protecting our communities by managing human waste and preventing the spread of harmful diseases. Without adequate sanitation, germs can contaminate our water, food, and environment, putting everyone at risk. On this World Toilet Day, I urge the public to maintain clean, hygienic toilets and practice good sanitation habits. Together, we can reduce the burden of infectious diseases and build a healthier community for all.”
The Director of Environmental Health Services, Sanitarian Baale Victoria Adekunbi, sensitized the public, particularly residents of Egbeda Local Government, on this year’s theme, “We’ll Always Need the Toilet.” She emphasized that toilets serve an important function in keeping human waste contained and reducing the risk of disease outbreak in our communities. Adequate sanitation protects our water, food, and surroundings from contamination by harmful germs. She therefore urged the public to maintain clean, hygienic toilets to reduce the prevalence of infectious diseases, while also commending the egbeda council boss, Hon. Sanda Sikiru, for his achievements and unwavering commitment to public health.
HLGA, Egbeda local government, Chief (Mrs) Monsurat Alaga also joined the awareness to educate the general public on the importance of making clean and hygiene toilets as an act of promoting personal well-being and also helps protect families and the larger community from infectious diseases.
In the campaign movement, the pupils of I.D.C basic school welcomed the chairman of egbeda local government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru with joy, happiness and display of exercise books donated to all primary schools in egbeda local government.
