Egbeda LG Chair’ Sanda Flags Off 5.8km Olodo–Enyo–Lakojo Road, Hails Makinde’s Grassroots Vision
The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, who also doubles as the Oyo State ALGON Chairman and Deputy National ALGON Chairman, has flagged off the construction of a 5.8-kilometre road stretching from Olodo Enyo Junction to Lakojo Town — the boundary between Egbeda and Lagelu Local Governments.

The official flag-off ceremony, held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, marks a major infrastructural milestone for Ward 5 in Egbeda, as the road is expected to enhance connectivity and boost economic activities across several towns and villages in the area.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Sanda lauded the visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde for his continued commitment to improving the welfare of Oyo State residents. He noted that over 20 development projects have been executed in Ward 5 alone under his administration, spanning key sectors such as education, infrastructure, security, and social welfare.

The council boss recalled that only last month, his administration distributed more than 70,000 notebooks to 77 schools across Egbeda Local Government as part of efforts to support education.
Acknowledging the current economic hardship being faced by citizens, Hon. Sanda assured residents that the new road project would commence within a few weeks and bring lasting relief to commuters. He urged landlords and residents to cooperate with engineers and government officials during the construction phase to ensure smooth execution of the project.

In their response, community leaders and landlords in the area expressed appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde and Hon. Sikiru Sanda for what they described as an unexpected but highly impactful project. They sang, danced, and prayed for the success of both leaders while pledging their continuous support and loyalty to the government of Oyo State and the Egbeda Local Government.
